Lanzarote! For us the most beautiful Canary island at all - not as crowded as the neighboring islands and has also a lot to offer culturally - to the landscape is quite bizarre and very unusual.
New Year's Day and the day before we left ... Something sadly we are already - have for the evening Udo and Diana already kindly reserved a table for us all in the Atlantic.
pity though, that at our first meeting Day at sea, not all have come, as had about `s Forum reported, but even so we are a nice group of kids and at least 12 people (11einhalb o). At breakfast we meet
on Sönke and Nicole and consider that it would be really nice to spend the day together, especially since the guys always stick together anyway. Said - done!
Although in Lanzarote by prior reservation between the holidays and it was possible earlier last summer on our cruise in the harbor yet times a car rental was, we try our luck against 11h spontaneously. Hertz
The switch has opened and there we can either be an economy car for 60 € or 100 € to get a bus for up to 9 persons .. The latter fits well and we beat.
First we go to the north direction Orzola. There are numerous small bays with white sand beach. Since you can only get there by car and this corner is not as well known, it is very quiet and we even find a free "Lavasteinburg", of which there are several on the beach - is this is about built out of lava rocks semicircular "Wind and castles and privacy."

From here it would be the way, not far to the Mirador del Rio, from which one can see across to La Gracchiosa. The restaurant with the view point was also built by Cesar Manrique (which is also the artist who brought innovation that Lanzarote can only be built up to three stories / could ... now there are already several exceptions ... but since then were not extremely ugly bed castles built there more).
Since the road is very curvy but there and we have not much time we jet back past the Cuevas de los Verdes and head south through Teguise, the wine growing region of La Geria.
there on the track also an ne very good wine cellar with an interesting wine museum (El Grifo) and some pretty narrow courtyards, where you can drink wine and tapas such as a plate with, for example homemade tapas with wine tasting (3 glasses for everyone and cheese, Bread etc. .. together for 2 people we paid 2 years ago ... all € 7.50 for children as there are peach juice and soft drinks) - but unfortunately this time everything is closed on New Year's (can you otherwise a visit only put his heart), and only the big shop a little further and the great "tourist facility / Bodega" is open - here we also meet the tour buses from the ship.
In Timanfaya we were not this time because we had taken part in the tour of the Fire Mountains already 2x before.
For those who wish there's a tip on this:
On the way out to get there even in a museum and research institute over, which is frequented by little and looks unimpressive (the excursion buses stop there, not ...) but very interesting.
There is admission free and is included in general admission Timanfaya. The museum itself, there are many interactive models on earthquake and volcanic activity - various simulations can be even started. Also there are various seismographs etc - really interesting for children to deal with them closely in the school. In addition, there are certain times and multimedia presentations, where you "almost live" can experience earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. A small shop front is also in there (There, you have to buy anything but ...)
But now on to our tour: the store in La Geria there are numerous pieces of jewelry to buy with olivine - the purchase of whole stones you can actually save, because there are olivine abundant in Lanzarote.

We first visit the green lagoon and enjoy a sensational view the sea and the coast.

Another tip for future Lanzarote - holiday / trippers:
