Noise Maker Ideas For Cheer

The penultimate day - New Year in Lanzarote

Lanzarote! For us the most beautiful Canary island at all - not as crowded as the neighboring islands and has also a lot to offer culturally - to the landscape is quite bizarre and very unusual.

New Year's Day and the day before we left ... Something sadly we are already - have for the evening Udo and Diana already kindly reserved a table for us all in the Atlantic.

pity though, that at our first meeting Day at sea, not all have come, as had about `s Forum reported, but even so we are a nice group of kids and at least 12 people (11einhalb o). At breakfast we meet

on Sönke and Nicole and consider that it would be really nice to spend the day together, especially since the guys always stick together anyway. Said - done!

Although in Lanzarote by prior reservation between the holidays and it was possible earlier last summer on our cruise in the harbor yet times a car rental was, we try our luck against 11h spontaneously. Hertz
The switch has opened and there we can either be an economy car for 60 € or 100 € to get a bus for up to 9 persons .. The latter fits well and we beat.

First we go to the north direction Orzola. There are numerous small bays with white sand beach. Since you can only get there by car and this corner is not as well known, it is very quiet and we even find a free "Lavasteinburg", of which there are several on the beach - is this is about built out of lava rocks semicircular "Wind and castles and privacy."

the plants grew in the sand Orola
there are the flowers of succulents?
The kids throw themselves into the water immediately and we will find a few lava rocks with Olivineinschlüssen.

From here it would be the way, not far to the Mirador del Rio, from which one can see across to La Gracchiosa. The restaurant with the view point was also built by Cesar Manrique (which is also the artist who brought innovation that Lanzarote can only be built up to three stories / could ... now there are already several exceptions ... but since then were not extremely ugly bed castles built there more).

Since the road is very curvy but there and we have not much time we jet back past the Cuevas de los Verdes and head south through Teguise, the wine growing region of La Geria.

there on the track also an ne very good wine cellar with an interesting wine museum (El Grifo) and some pretty narrow courtyards, where you can drink wine and tapas such as a plate with, for example homemade tapas with wine tasting (3 glasses for everyone and cheese, Bread etc. .. together for 2 people we paid 2 years ago ... all € 7.50 for children as there are peach juice and soft drinks) - but unfortunately this time everything is closed on New Year's (can you otherwise a visit only put his heart), and only the big shop a little further and the great "tourist facility / Bodega" is open - here we also meet the tour buses from the ship.

In Timanfaya we were not this time because we had taken part in the tour of the Fire Mountains already 2x before.

For those who wish there's a tip on this:

On the way out to get there even in a museum and research institute over, which is frequented by little and looks unimpressive (the excursion buses stop there, not ...) but very interesting.
There is admission free and is included in general admission Timanfaya. The museum itself, there are many interactive models on earthquake and volcanic activity - various simulations can be even started. Also there are various seismographs etc - really interesting for children to deal with them closely in the school. In addition, there are certain times and multimedia presentations, where you "almost live" can experience earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. A small shop front is also in there (There, you have to buy anything but ...)

But now on to our tour: the store in La Geria there are numerous pieces of jewelry to buy with olivine - the purchase of whole stones you can actually save, because there are olivine abundant in Lanzarote.
Since the children really wild scramble, and again on a treasure hunt / Olivinsuche are going on our trip to El Golfo.

The green lagoon at El Golfo - a spectacular sight and view!

We first visit the green lagoon and enjoy a sensational view the sea and the coast.
For the green color of the lagoon, an alga called Ruppia Maritima responsibility that needs to grow an extremely high salinity sea water usually flows regularly through underground connections to -. But nevertheless, the lagoon is shrinking in recent years due to evaporation.
is why the lagoon today much smaller than a few years ago ...

olivine (Photo rope man)
If you drive through the town by to the end (it ends in a street kind) to get to a big playground - park in front of it good. There are
namely giant lava fields that lead into the sea (watch scrambling for high and low tide ... depending on when you losmarschiert, you can even get your feet wet behind). At low tide cavort in many small pools countless small fish and crabs and sea salt is deposited in the crust.

And in the lava you will find most of Olivine - this is what our kids, and this time we take a bag for our treasures. Of course, the sparkling green Olivine there buy at every corner, but that's not fun - so ---> good shoes!

Zuück to the salt mines all over with salt on mountain slopes towards Playa Blanca. Actually, we have inserted more like a short stop at the Papagayo beaches - but the unpaved, rocky road is there with our bus not be done really - so we make ourselves but rather gradually for home towards Arrecife and see on the way home at Castello more Udo and Diana with Niklas and Nina, who have been through the family / Pirate Tour. My

The ship will unfortunately again at 18h.

way reversed by TUI Cruises in Arrecife a free shuttle bus from the ship into the city.

As always with anything that is particularly nice: it's much too soon and so well that day is coming and so our holiday gradually to a close.

The evening Verbing all together in the Atlantic with a fantastic food, super nice people we have met on this trip and a good portion of sea: o) The New Year's menu leaves nothing to be desired - the filet of beef Wellington - a poem ...
(... unfortunately I've now obviously, but despite all Hygienmassnahmen also caught the virus rampant - on the night I `s still on the Swell pushed, unfortunately I had the next 3 days also something like this - because tomorrow is the journey home - and I feel that night not so good ...) Unfortunately, it is
now pack our bags. The planes of Udo and Diana and Sönke and Nicole go along with kids relatively early - our own direction Hannover until very late - so we have one more day on Gran Canaria in front of us. But without so friendly company, it is only half as good!

Another tip for future Lanzarote - holiday / trippers:
interesting for children and parents: at the roadside are everywhere giant cacti, sometimes by a white fuzz are covered - even take it with a plastic bag, keep to the roadside and shows the children the thick cochineal lice - which are responsible for the white fuzz on the cactus. The lice are not dangerous and responsible for the red dye, which is sometimes used in gummy bears (and Campari and various cosmetics).
However, we found this time, unfortunately, no lice (therefore have plenty of ripe cactus fruit ... unfortunately we have no gloves, the fine needles poke fruits) are

morning for a final round even through the ship ... a really fantastic holiday is drawing to a close ... adjusts the timing - 17h
